Navigating the resources

To access the modules, the following steps are:

  1. Fill up this form: HERDSA Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Modules Access Registration
  2. An invitation to enrol in the course will be sent to the email address you provided. Please check your junk folder, as the email may appear there.
  3. This is a Moodle unit external to ACU. You will need to follow the instructions provided by HERDSA once your registration is processed.

The modules are designed to be self-guided and self-paced. You can work through them in sequence or select individual modules, or groups of modules, based on your interests and professional learning needs.

Each module includes a range of materials, such as scholarly readings, YouTube clips, PowerPoint presentations, website links and audio content. Icons are used throughout to identify the different types of learning activities included in your learning pathway.

Your Learning Blog/Journal

Throughout the modules, you’ll find critical questions and learning activities that you are invited to complete. You can record your responses in a learning blog or journal. Your learning journal can provide evidence of your engagement with the modules and skill development, while also giving you a place to capture your teaching and learning reflections.

For those new to academia, the learning journal may also be a useful artefact to share during probationary reviews or performance discussions with your Head of school, department or faculty.

You can create an online journal in Canvas by selecting Account from the left-hand menu, then Folio. There are also a range of free blog and journal tools available online.
